NW: Hit a Homerun with the “Northwest Diamond Run”!

Four ride managers in the Northwest have joined together to give you the NW Diamond Run, a grand slam competition! The rules are simple and the challenge and awards are great!

We, the ride managers of Creek to Capitol Peak (Nicole Miller and Jala Neufeld), Midnight Rider (Bobbi Walker), Crazy Daze I and II (Shelley Kerr) and Prater Mountain (Tara Walker) have joined together to offer a fun and challenging competition for endurance riders at all levels. Ride times are not a part of the challenge so the possibility a “turtle” hitting it out of the park is very doable. The rider who completes the most NW Diamond Run miles with the best CRIs wins!

We want to reward our loyal riders by creating this prestigious award. Additionally, we want to recognize horse fitness and rider responsibility in a competition that upholds the endurance motto “to finish is to win”.

Run to first base at the two-day Creek to Capitol Peak, June 21-22, in the beautiful Capitol Forest outside Olympia, WA. Round second base with the Midnight Rider, a unique night riding experience on August 17 outside Chehalis, WA on the Willapa Hills Trail. Load up the bases with Crazy Daze I and II at the beautiful Riverside State Equestrian Park near Spokane, WA August 31st and September 1st. Then slide into home plate at Prater Mountain, near Priest River, Idaho. Hit it out of the park and bring in your home run for the chance to be a winning team!

We want to make it worth your while, so in addition to providing beautiful northwest scenery, well-marked trails, educational clinics and awesome ride management and volunteers, the top 3 finishers will receive phenomenal awards. Just to give you a taste of what you could win: the first place finisher receives a free ride at each NW Diamond Run ride for 2020 plus more! (Over $400 in awards for first place).

Knock it out of the park in 2019 and join the challenging adventure the NW Diamond Run is offering! Details for each of the four rides can be found at aerc.org under the Calendar tab. The Northwest Diamond Run is coming soon to Facebook and will have a webpage as well.
